  3. New layout is lovely, thanks for the useful site :)

  4. I LOVE this site. But I definitely prefer the old layout. Please keep "old site" access alive. It's much easier to copy/past from title case and to see the full breadth of options.

Please note, there are some typos on the settings: Articles, conjunctions, and prepositions less than six letters long are changed to lower case unless they are at the *begining* of a *sentense.*

  5. Sam,
Thank you very much. I do not have any plan to kill the old site. I am going to work on a theme for the new site which looks like the old-site. The engine for the new site is much more powerful and conversions are more reliable.

  6. Hey, new site looks darker but it's cool What I miss from the old site are the character counts.

    1. Hi Lenin,
Please click theme from top menu bar and then click white to get a lighter look. Character count is also available in the new site. Click the exclamation icon on top right of result boxes.

  8. Hey - just used this. Life saver. Before had to use Illustrator to convert but then it'd still be incorrect(includes two character words etc). So thanks!

  9. I like your website for converting to Title Case, but there is one bug. The last word in a title should always be capitalized, even if it's on your exception list. For example: look up should be capitalized as Look Up, not Look up.

  10. The title case rule seems near perfect, except that some style manuals confirm that first AND last words of a title should be capitalised regardless of what class of word they are.

Your website seems the best so far in the title case conversion except ignoring the last word rule.

  11. Hello,

I see some customization options from the settings button but I don't see the option I am looking for. Is there a way to convert text to title case that is specifically in the AP style?

    Thanks

    1. I am going to add AP style soon. Meanwhile you may uncheck all words except
      a
      for
      so
      an
      in
      the
      and
      nor
      to
      at
      of
      up
      but
      on
      yet
      by
      or
and it should give you AP style. You do not need to repeat this, it will keep your selections.

  12. Why is the preposition, "before," capitalized per your website when nearly every other preposition is not capitalized?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hi! Can you let me know what manual of style your titlecase engine works of off? My company switched to AP Style which is quite different from yours but we're switching back soon. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    1. Title case
Initial letters capitalized, but words separated by spaces. After the first word, articles, conjunctions, and prepositions not more than five letters long are all lower case. This Is an Example, So Is This
Please take a look at http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?CapitalizationRules

  14. This is a great website, but I can't believe you guys don't have a solution for sentence case. http://caseconverter.com/

  15. Is there a way to create a personalized list of exceptions? e.g., The initialism "IP" is always capitalized, and it would make copy/paste easier if this and other examples could be added to a list.

    thanks

    1. Yes, there is. Click Setting button beside Convert, type your exceptions (comma separated) in the text field below all words, click add button next to the text field!

  16. Have the rules on the site changed? I am getting some words returned with capitalisation with Title Case that never used to be.

  17. Hey, I don't know if you will see this, but our company uses title case for work and whenever we paste something like

    "AIR CONDITIONING

    CLIMATE CONTROL"

is there a possilbiity you could program the titlecase to get rid of the two spaces? to make it easier if that makes sense so it would look like "Air Conditioning, Climate Control"

  18. Hi, the site doesn't seem to be converting text correctly this morning, is there an issue or would it be something to do with my PC? It shows a screen saying PHP and a script of code.

    thanks!

    1. Hi Natalie,

I was moving the site to a dedicated server to increase the speed. For some time the site was down. It should be good now. Let me know if you are still facing any issues.

  19. Problem: not picking up capitalization after colon.

    Ex:
Your tool capitalizes the following input:
my awesome title: the title that is most awesome

    to this in APA style:
My Awesome Title: the Title That Is Most Awesome

Same for title case. APA style (as well as almost all titling formats) indicates that the first word after a colon should be capitalized, no matter if it's an article or any other.

  20. Great resource!
I have found that it is not doing "From" correctly when it is included in some of my text. I tried unchecking the default 'from' and adding my own 'from' in the settings, but the same result.

  23. This test case makes causes a failure when parsing the content:

    IF..

    This causes also an error:
VAT IF APPLICABLE.. DEPENDING ON TIME SPENT ON THE MATTER.

    But not this:
VAT IF APPLICABLE. DEPENDING ON TIME SPENT ON THE MATTER.

  24. This title was accepted a few years ago. Why would I be wanting to fix something that's already been accepted? I tried typing in the title case - Australian Short Stories for Boys (& Girls) but it went nowhere :(

  25. I love the look of the new site, but I have been relying on the old one out of habit, and it has not been working lately. I just wanted to let you know in case it wasn't intentionally phased out! Thanks!

  26. Is it possible to add an alternative to Hyphen-Case / Snake_Case called: dot.case

It's the format I use for Google doc file names.
It's also a popular format for phone numbers.

  27. Is there an option to add personal exceptions (like a personal dictionary). e.g., I use title case all the time but would like to add things like API, HTTP, and so on as exceptions.

    Great site. Thank you :-)

    1. Actually there is. Click on settings and add exceptions at the bottom. It will remember them(saved in cookies)
